Question.

Why don’t the applications on the iPhone App Store have demos available? Is this an oversight or on purpose? I see a lot of applications that I would be willing to pay for, but am a little leary to drop the dough because most apps look good in a screen shot but don’t live up to the hype.

A 3 day demo cap should be enough to for most people to fiddle with the app and see if they like it enough to buy it. The software business has been built on a certain model, that model usually includes some sort of demonstration ability or “try before you buy”. Why is the App Store different?

So here is my answer to the statement above:

Kill your TV.

That is it. Simple. Do it.

I took my 50″ plasma, Wii, TiVo and DVD player apart, dismantled them, stuck them in totes and stored them in the basement. It would be a real pain in the ass to pull them out on a whim, so I don’t. Don’t get me wrong, I still like a good movie or show on the web once in a while, but for the most part I have a butt load more time to spend however I choose.

Results may vary.

OK, enough. This has gone on long enough. Matt Drudge, please oh please update your site to reflect the money you make off of it. Still using notepad to code? How quaint. Simple only goes so far and then it becomes annoying. I’ve seen squatter pages that look better.

Over the years I have changed my internet aliases several times. The other day I thought it might be fun to see which of my old monikers may be left and where. Doing a search of the old alias or email addresses brings up some pretty interesting things. One of the things I noticed was certain sites that tend not to purge old users in like… forever. Personally, I think if I don’t login or have any activity for 6 months on a site, perhaps a “house cleaning” may be in order.

Many of the “newer sites” have a way to delete your profile and data. All should. Make it easy, don’t make me look all over the frickin’ place to delete my own account.
